It delights me to no end that “Autumn Goodbye” is the second Spears track the world ever heard. Included as the B-side to her smash debut, the track is delightfully saccharine teen poetry set to a 90s house beat. Perhaps best thought of as a superior sister track to “Deep in My Heart,” once again it was likely a wise decision to leave this dated genre off the standard release. Nonetheless, the infectiousness of this absolute bop is undeniable, and Britney is more vocally adventurous than we find her on many of her other releases.
