(Spears, Bell, Karlsson, Winnberg, Jonback) Album: I’ve Just Begun (Having My Fun) – Wal-Mart Exclusive Digital Single / Britney Spears: In the Zone (UK Exclusive Bonus CD) / Greatest Hits: My Prerogative
Recorded initially for the In the Zone album, this track was initially made available to American audiences as a Wal-Mart exclusive digital download, whereas UK audiences first encountered the song on the bonus EP that accompanied the Britney Spears: In the Zone DVD. Despite being an exclusive to one vendor in the US, the song took on a life of its own and charted on the digital charts with no promotion from Spears herself. The electro-rock track was co-written by Spears and made enough of a splash to be included on her 2004 Greatest Hits: My Prerogative compilation. It’s funky, it’s fun, and despite the simplistic lyrics, Britney does her best rock frontwoman and really sells the song. Seven years after its initial release, the song reappeared in the 2011 film Bridesmaids at the beginning of a memorable plane scene. Not too shabby for a bonus track!
