54. Do You Wanna Come Over? (2016)

(Larsson, Fredriksson, Michaels, Tranter, Chila)

Album: Glory

Spastic flamenco guitars propel this electropop ode to the concept of Netflix and chill. “Do You Wanna Come Over” was the fourth track reveal after “Make Me” and two other promotional singles in the late summer of 2016. One of the more prominent Glory non-singles, Spears performed this track on The Today Show and chose it as one of two Glory tracks (along with “Make Me”) to be promptly added to her Piece of Me residency setlist. Its definitive placement in the album’s sequence is a bit unsettled, appearing as track 2 on the physical release after the ethereal “Invitation,” while the original digital release had the song in its more natural home next to another dance bop “Clumsy.” But the album’s 2020 re-release doubled down on the original order on the physical release, re-bestowing the prominent second position to “Do You Wanna Come Over.” While this might make less sense from an album flow standpoint, it’s hard to argue that the song doesn’t deserve to be front and center.
