(Evigan, Isaac, Parker, Overstreet)
Album: Glory (Deluxe/International Editions)
Alright, now who went and pissed Britney off? Spears is a woman scorned in “Liar,” and she’s about to burn the place to the ground. Lyrically, Britney spews so much vitriol that it makes “Since U Been Gone” feel like it could have been a lullaby: “I ain’t f*ckin’ with your dirty, dirty, dirty laundry.” Her husky voice on the verses sounds spiteful and dismissive, and the synth-clap bridge builds to the explosive chorus. It’s a shame that this banger never received the single treatment. It’s not hard to picture a spiteful Spears setting everything afire. With the heavy thump and the harmonica in the intro and outro, it strikes a different tone than most of the other Glory tunes. A high caliber song for an album bonus track.
