Never has phone sex sounded so sweet. Spears, who had co-writing credits on this “Everytime” B-side, has more than one song in her discography dedicated to the subject, and it only gets better than this (please see “Phonography”). Not that “Don’t Hang Up” is a bad song by any means. Her falsetto is on point in all the verses, and she seems to make a convincing argument over the celestial production to whomever is at the other end of the line. But it was absolutely the right choice to make this bonus/B-side material.
