We caught a glimpse of Spears recording the stutter-y synth-driven “Trouble” on her seminal 2008 MTV documentary For the Record. This electropop tune is the perfect example of how she often uses her voice to mimic or emphasize the rhythm of a song. While her peers were delivering melisma-ladened ballads, Britney shows us she knows her way around a dance track. The production on Trouble is sparse but effective, and though it gets a bit repetitive, it remains of her superior bonus tracks.
